Taxi at Lombok Airport

Once arrived at Lombok Airport, a good option to get to your hotel is without a doubt by taxi. You can get further information regarding taxi fares at the taxi counter available in both arrivals level.

Lombok Airport is located at 40 kilometres southwest of Mataram, which can be transferred within 38 minutes by taxi.

As an advice, just ride into the official metered taxis, as many tourists have complained about drivers who have just took them for a ride, getting consequently scammed. It is wise to also carry along with you a map of the island to show to the driver – many taxi drivers aren’t locals.

On the other, beforehand, it is advisable to get informed about fares and transfer times.

The official Airport Taxis are dark blue coloured, while BlueBird Taksi are light blue coloured. Both are decorated with the corporate image, along with an illuminated sign. Be aware to identify the official taxis, since some unofficial cabs are also coloured in blue.


Taxis can be found outside both international and domestic arrivals.

- Senggigi: Rp 166.70 (1h 30 minutes). 
- Kuta: Rp 60.57 (25 minutes). 
- Gili Islands: (2 hours). 


The ojek is the motorbike taxi service of Lombok. You can transfer to close destinations within the cities of Mataram, Senggigi and Kuta, and also between cities.

Though there aren’t fixed fares, these are the estimated fares:

- Thumb up to a close destination: Rp 5,000. 
- Few kilometres: Rp 10,000. 
- Long trip: Rp 20,000. 
- Full day: Rp 35,000 – 40,000.

The Cidomo is the traditional way of public transport on Lombok, which consist of horse-drawn carts, still used nowadays. It is one of the best ways to explore the major cities and towns within Lombok (as long as they are short distances). Though it is a slow way of transport, locals tend to use them on their daily basis.

You won’t have to worry about negotiating fares – the Government has established them by law, so they are fixed.
